Two weeks till return to work

Well the count down begins till my return to work with life getting even more complicated but in an exciting and eventful way. I'm blessed to have a positive outlook on the balancing act of a working mom of three. I have my moments where utter exhaustion kicks in but honestly I feel I'm loosing it when I don't have anything to shuffle or plan. Today I downloaded a remarkable app called Cozi so my husband and I can share special dates, to do lists, and grocery lists. I think I get a rush out of being euber productive... I know sick isn't it.
Ava my precious Ava slept through the entire night last night 1/28/13 from 9:30pm- 5:00am . Only 2.5 yrs. old and two weeks away from my return to the office what an incredible angel. This perfection again reminds me just how powerful prayer is and just how blessed I am to have happy, healthy, and stable children. May God continue to pour out his blessings and protection on these three that not even the wind against there brow will slow them down or harm them. Who says we can't pray for a near perfect experience in life for our children? To be blessed beyond what they could imagine and be shielded by the Holy Spirit in protection from all that is evil and to open doors for them to experience life in the most joyful and exuberant way.

Thanks to the Lord for reminding me just how good God is and how having Him in my life gives me new perspective day by day regarding love, life, and the pursuit of happiness. Without Christ all things are gray but with Him we see life in an entirely different way. Forgive me Lord for focusing too much on the gray for there is entirely too much color in the world to miss out on. Just look at my babies to prove it

Visit with grandma and cousin

The weekend was jam packed with fun festivities visiting with my grandma and cousin who flew here from New York. Friday I picked them up from the airport and we enjoyed some homemade pizza and conversation. Saturday we took the kids to jumping joeys for several hours and later on I treated them to dinner at carrabas. My cousin and I stayed up till 4:am talking (I know crazy but super fun). The next day I started making sauce and meatballs and took a ride to Alabama to pick up sister Steph. Grandma got to see all her granddaughters and enjoyed a serenade from the children before dinner. We had to drive Steph back that evening and stayed up again till 4am. Monday we took the kids to park and later I took my cousin to canvas by u to paint and enjoy some wine. We went to cheesecake factory after and then home. I'm really going to miss them I get so sad when they leave.

Amelia's 4th birthday

1-9-13 my baby turned 4-years-old can't believe it. I had the remarkable opportunity to go to her school and bring cupcakes and princess toys for all of her friends. Later we went to swift Cantrell park and played for several hours.

Amelia loves for us to spend time with her talking and sharing stories. She lives running around with her red "Kate" ( cape) on lol saying she is super girl. She's such a sweet precious girl.

She talked to Aunti stephy on the phone for 20 min thinking Stephy could see what she was doing through the phone the entire time. It was hilarious. Grandma baker, grandpa Harold, Aunti Kelly, and Aiden all wished her a special happy birthday for her special day.)

Amelia's dad picked up light bright a toy I grew up playing with and a doodle art drawer that hooks up to my iPad. Can't wait to see how this works, with Amelia of course.

Self / sooth Ava

Well at the start of eight weeks old with only 4 precious more weeks before I return to the working world, my little love and I have to embrace the process of self soothing.

With baby #3 I've turned to the Internet as an encyclopedia or almost like a bible of information on the process of different stages or questions related to baby, pains, nursing, self soothing, babies diff cries, baby products, emotional development, best toys, etc. Every single time the information has been extremely helpful and has worked!

The most recent is self sooth to bed. Let baby cry it out without ever going to sooth, let baby cry a little with you outside the room and than sooth, let baby cry a little with you in the room. Co-sleeping, no rocking, put them Down awake.

I'm happy to say tonight at 10pm or so I nursed Ava and then key her sit upright for about 30 min and then laid her awake in crib. I set up her new music mobile, put her flashy light up on ceiling stuffed unicorn on, wound up her music mobile, put in her new pacifier and walked out the room.

She seemed asleep in a few
Min but then started to move, squirm, whimper, and eventually escalated to a cry when the music stopped and her pacifier fell out of her mouth.

Annoyed that the music mobile did not last longer I thought she was perhaps may have been enjoying the music so I went in to start it up again, put passy back in mouth, and turn on nightlight again cause it times out every 15 min.

That lasted a good 10-15 min I so before she started the above pattern again. This time I let her cry for about 5 min before I thought to myself, what if she's wet? She last ate at 10pm so by 11:30pm she might have peed. Sure enough I was correct so I picked her up, kissed her all over her face, and changes her diaper. I laid her back down wound up the music, put passy back in, turned nightlight back on and walked out with monitor. After five to 10 min I realized no cry and about 10:45pm I walked in nursery and took this picture

God is good!

The sleep is still super late for my taste but it's progress for first night trying this.

Oh wait! Oh no! It's midnight and she's squirming again with a slight whimper. She's sucking on fingers though so we mate still making progress.

What am I doing besides training my baby at midnight? Cooking a rotisserie chicken and baked potatoes and putting the clothes in the dryer.

Monitor check- 5 min later still not crying, wiggling but not crying, I'm so proud of my night owl she's so precious.

She was enjoying around 9pm a little father daughter time. Daddy's favorite.

I'm soooo tired and have to drive kids to school in morning. Monitor died needs charging but I can hear her whimpering but not crying yet, pray for me lol.
