Well at the start of eight weeks old with only 4 precious more weeks before I return to the working world, my little love and I have to embrace the process of self soothing.
With baby #3 I've turned to the Internet as an encyclopedia or almost like a bible of information on the process of different stages or questions related to baby, pains, nursing, self soothing, babies diff cries, baby products, emotional development, best toys, etc. Every single time the information has been extremely helpful and has worked!
The most recent is self sooth to bed. Let baby cry it out without ever going to sooth, let baby cry a little with you outside the room and than sooth, let baby cry a little with you in the room. Co-sleeping, no rocking, put them Down awake.
I'm happy to say tonight at 10pm or so I nursed Ava and then key her sit upright for about 30 min and then laid her awake in crib. I set up her new music mobile, put her flashy light up on ceiling stuffed unicorn on, wound up her music mobile, put in her new pacifier and walked out the room.
She seemed asleep in a few
Min but then started to move, squirm, whimper, and eventually escalated to a cry when the music stopped and her pacifier fell out of her mouth.
Annoyed that the music mobile did not last longer I thought she was perhaps may have been enjoying the music so I went in to start it up again, put passy back in mouth, and turn on nightlight again cause it times out every 15 min.
That lasted a good 10-15 min I so before she started the above pattern again. This time I let her cry for about 5 min before I thought to myself, what if she's wet? She last ate at 10pm so by 11:30pm she might have peed. Sure enough I was correct so I picked her up, kissed her all over her face, and changes her diaper. I laid her back down wound up the music, put passy back in, turned nightlight back on and walked out with monitor. After five to 10 min I realized no cry and about 10:45pm I walked in nursery and took this picture

God is good!
The sleep is still super late for my taste but it's progress for first night trying this.
Oh wait! Oh no! It's midnight and she's squirming again with a slight whimper. She's sucking on fingers though so we mate still making progress.
What am I doing besides training my baby at midnight? Cooking a rotisserie chicken and baked potatoes and putting the clothes in the dryer.
Monitor check- 5 min later still not crying, wiggling but not crying, I'm so proud of my night owl she's so precious.
She was enjoying around 9pm a little father daughter time. Daddy's favorite.

I'm soooo tired and have to drive kids to school in morning. Monitor died needs charging but I can hear her whimpering but not crying yet, pray for me lol.
